The next pair added 19 runs in their allotted 4 overs taking the score to 245 after 8 overs. 17 runs were added after the next 4 overs and the final pair finished the innings on 298 runs adding 26 runs. Accrington didn’t manage to get any wickets.
A daunting task lay ahead to score 99 runs off 16 overs.
We didn’t get off to a good start with Bacup taking a wicket with their first ball. Our first pair of Alice and Ellie added 7 runs with 2 outs. Next to bat were James Meechan and Harrison Schofield adding 13 runs with the loss of 1 wicket. Harrison being very pleased with himself and shout “Yes a four” as the ball cleared the boundary. Josh Lloyd and Jacob Threlfall only managed to add 2 runs from some excellent bowling off the next 4 overs. The score was 202 off 12 overs. Our last pair of Antonio Lo Giudice and Louis Cunliffe had a difficult task ahead in scoring 96 runs. Louis set off by hitting a 6, was this going to be the start of a mighty come back? The total was too much and the pair added 28 runs but we lost another wicket and finished the game on 226.
